Chicago Bears 2023 game-by-game record prediction
It is that time of the year again. As always, I will be doing my annual record prediction for the Chicago Bears. After being with BearGogglesOn since 2017, you can see that while I do not nail the record, I am also not on the side of being too big of a homer or a hater. However, I did nail their record in 2020 and 2021. I knew they would be bad in 2022, but not that bad.
So, what about the Chicago Bears record in 2023?
2017 Prediction: 6-10
Actual: 5-11
2018 Prediction: 9-7
Actual: 12-4
2019 Prediction: 9-7
Actual: 8-8
2020 Prediction: 8-8
Actual: 8-8
2021 Prediction: 6-11
Actual: 6-11
Actual: 3-14
Week 1 Chicago Bears vs Green Bay Packers
The Packers come in with a new quarterback, but we see the same dominance on the offensive and defensive lines. Green Bay beats an offensive line that is coming together on the fly
0-1
Week 2 Chicago Bears at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
It feels like a must-win as the Chicago Bears enter Tampa Bay 0-1 and facing the Chiefs next week. The Bears do enough to win this game against Baker Mayfield and struggling Bucs team.
1-1
Week 3 Chicago Bears at Kansas City Chiefs
Patrick Mahomes in Kansas City is always hard to beat. The Chicago Bears are not there yet.
1-2
Week 4 Chicago Bears vs Denver Broncos
Sean Payton may have the Broncos playing better football, but Justin Fields looks to be the better quarterback, and the Broncos defense may not be as good as last year.
2-2
Week 5 Chicago Bears at Washington Commanders
A loss against Washington is when things finally turned around for the Chicago Bears offense. This year we see a turning point, and they win a tight game.
3-2
Week 6 Chicago Bears vs Minnesota Vikings
The Vikings won a lot of close games last year, and their defense may end up worse this year. Look for the Chicago Bears offense to find itself in this stretch.
4-2
Week 7 Chicago Bears vs Las Vegas Raiders
Maxx Crosby is a tough matchup for the young Bears offensive line, and Jimmy Garoppolo seems to play weel in Chicago. The Raiders derail a surging Bears team.
4-3
Week 8 Chicago Bears at Los Angelas Chargers
The slide continues. The Chargers offensive line is one of the best in the NFL, and it will be tough to contain Justin Herbert. The Bears can score, but not enough. Khalil Mack gets a sack as he beats the Chicago Bears.
4-4
Week 9 Chicago Bears at New Orleans Saints
On the road, with their backs against the wall, and a three game losing streak staring them in the faec, the team bounces back. Justin Fields goes off in the dome, and the Bears win.
5-4
Week 10 Chicago Bears vs Carolina Panthers
This is a double-win. The Bears win, and improve their draft stock via the Panthers pick.
6-4
Week 11 Chicago Bears at Detroit Lions
The thought is that these two teams will probably split, so we will give the home game to the Lions
6-5
Week 12 Chicago Bears at Minnesota Vikings
Back-to-Back division games is tough. This team also has the bye week looming, which is great because they will need it, but spells issues because they should be tired by this game.
6-6
Week 14 Chicago Bears vs Detroit Lions
Rested off of the bye week the Chicago Bears head back home and split the season series with the Detroit Lions
7-6
Week 15 Chicago Bears vs Cleveland Browns
The Browns found their groove with DeShaun Watson having more games under his belt. The Bears cannot create pass rush against this line, and thr Browns are a team built to win in December.
7-7
Week 16 Chicago Bears vs Arizona Cardinals
The Cardinals are a mess and could be starting Clayton Tune at this point.
8-7
Week 17 Chicago Bears vs Atlanta Falcons
The Falcons will be a tougher offense to stop than some fans think. Their run attack forces the Bears outisde their comfort zone
8-8
Week 18 Chicago Bears at Green Bay Packers
It all comes down to this. Winning season or losing season. Did they learn anything from week one? Was Justin Fields a success? We will put our BearGogglesOn, and give the Chicago Bears the W.
9-8
Final Record Predictions: 9-8
