Devin Hester Debuts in Chicago Parent Magazine
Devin Hester and I have something in common. No, it’s not blazing speed or NFL records. Devin Hester is more than just a wide receiver and kick return demi-god, he’s also a proud papa to 1-year old son Devin. While some locked out NFLers are trying their hands at soccer or boxing, Devin will take his talents to Chicago Parent Magazine. The Devins will take Chicago parents on a tour of fun and exciting things to do in Chicago. Here’s a snippet from Devin’s first article in the April issue:
Will the Bears Trade Down (OR UP)???
Brad Biggs is one of my guys. Yesterday, Biggsy wrote a piece that included the possibility of the Bears moving UP in the draft if there was a guy there they liked. Biggsy doesn’t say whether or not he buys into that notion. I would submit to the class, that moving UP would be a bad idea and I have my reasons which you can see after the jump…
National Football Post Goes Inside the Bears Draft Room
Some of the keenest football minds at National Football Post, including former Bears college scouting director Greg Gabriel talk about the Bears draft prospects:
Bears Vanity Plate Contest
You may have heard that the state of Illinois is launching a new Chicago Bears license plate. Check out this post on Chicago Breaking Sports which includes Pat McCaskey’s poem kicking off the program. Yes, really. I think he should stick to his day job, whatever that is, but I’m no poet. Seeing some of the plates that the Bears and Jesse White unveiled got me to thinking (I know, always scary when I get to thinking): What would some of our favorite Chicago Bears have as their vanity plates? Check out these Bears Vanity plate ideas: Jerry Angelo’s
Rashied Davis Trying to Do His Part
Rashied Davis is someone who has seemingly been just hanging around with the Bears the last few seasons. The former Arena Football Star is a special teams ace and comes up with the occassional big catch in the passing game. Another thing about Rashied, is it would seem the coaches love and respect his work ethic and what he brings to the table. Rashied is now doing his part to make sure this God-forsaken lockout doesn’t do anything to negatively affect the Bears on the field next season. Rashied is working out a plan to get the QBs and WRs [...]
Chicago’s Sweet 16 – Regional Finals
We’re through the first round of Chicago’s Sweet 16 tournament and it was a HUGE success. Thousands of votes were cast to help find the hottest woman in Chicago media. No looking back, it’s time to move on to the Elite 8. To help give a little more depth than some blurry photos, I’ve added a video clip for each of the Regional finalists. OK, enough talk. On with tournament… TV SPORTS REGION Paula Faris vs Sarah Kustok Paula Faris Paula cruised to an easy win over CSN’s Gail Fischer. Here’s a funny clip of Paula that the Loop did [...]
I’m a loyal Score-head (that’s 670 The Score to those not in the know) and have been listening to Dan McNeil since the mid-90′s, so you can imagine my surprise when I got a tweet yesterday that Dan and co-host Matt Spiegel were discussing our very own Chicago’s Sweet 16 Tournament to select the hottest woman in Chicago media. I wasn’t able to tune in live, but never fear, they have podcasts of the show. I’ve downloaded it and clipped the segment so you can listen to it here: It’s a discussion all of us, ok maybe just some of [...]
NFL Totally Blows it With New Kickoff Rule
The running joke is that NFL stands for No Fun League and with the latest rule change regarding kickoffs, that name rings true. We talked about this last week and our fears have come to fruition. The NFL’s Competition Committee passed a new rule regarding kickoffs that will move the kickoff up from the 30 to the 35 yard line, effectively wiping out a majority of kickoff returns and creating a hell of a lot more touchbacks. BO-RING! After the season where Devin Hester broke the all-time return record, I guess the other team figured the only way to stop [...]
