5. Adrian Amos

Adrian Amos is in a bit of similar spot as Kyle Fuller. Last season at this time the duo was just hoping to crack the starting lineup. Over time both got their chances and both took advantage.

Adrian Amos has been a three-year starter for the Chicago Bears. However, in the first two seasons of his career, he was miscast due to the lack of depth in the secondary. He was not a strong coverage safety but was the best of the group in which they had.

Enter Eddie Jackson. Eddie Jackson changed the game for Adrian Amos. Jackson is more of a centerfield threat who can play single high and roam in coverage. This allows Adrian Amos to do what he has always wanted to do, which is pursue downhill and make tackles.

Amos thrived in his new role and was ranked the number two safety in football by PFF standards. The best part? This should only be the beginning.

As mentioned, Amos was not even a starter by week one. Eddie Jackson is a rookie. This duo now has their first offseason to work things through as a starting tandem. Amos has been rated so high due to his efficient play. However, he is not regarded as an elite safety because he is not a game changer. If he can add that into his arsenal he could be a top player on this roster.
