The Chicago Bears fan base is still trying to get over the playoff loss, but the offseason has begun with the coaching staff getting a lot of attention.

Bears running back coach Eric Bieniemy is out as he took the Kansas City Chiefs' offensive coordinator job. Offensive coordinator Declan Doyle got his first interview of the offseason as he talked to the Philadelphia Eagles about their opening at the same role.

The most popular Bears coach being brought in for interviews is defensive backs coach and pass game coordinator Al Harris, who has already interviewed for the Green Bay Packers and Washington Commanders defensive coordinator openings. League sources tell NFL insider Josina Anderson that Harris will be interviewing for the Tennessee Titans' defensive coordinator opening.

Bears might lose Al Harris after third DC interview

Harris did phenomenal work in his only season with the Bears, working with their secondary despite the headaches he had to deal with. Despite losing Jaylon Johnson and Kyler Gordon for most of the season with injuries, Harris helped Nahshon Wright lead the NFL in turnovers created, and Kevin Byard became an All-Pro after catching an NFL-leading seven interceptions.

The Titans just hired Robert Saleh to be their head coach, coming off his stint as the defensive coordinator of the San Francisco 49ers. Saleh has just started doing interviews and building his new coaching staff.

Harris being sought by multiple NFL teams is no surprise, as he has done great work in 2025 and has been a rising star in the coaching ranks over the last few years. It would be a surprise at this point if the Bears were able to retain Harris on the staff, given that there are now three openings that could be filled by him at defensive coordinator.
